Seminaria Photography Contest 2025
Regulations
- The contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers over 18 years of age. Members of the “Seminaria Sogninterra” and “l’altro sguardo” associations and members of the judging committee are excluded from the competition.
- For the selection, a maximum of 5 digital photographs can be submitted. The photos must be taken during the “Seminaria Sogninterra” event that will take place in Maranola on August 28-29-30, 2025.
- Contest theme: In the stone heart of Maranola’s medieval village, among alleys, arches, ancient stairs, and sea views, art manifests as a living, widespread, breathed presence.
The environmental installations, created site-specifically for Seminaria Sogninterra, interweave with the landscape and those who inhabit it, even if just for a moment. The photo contest invites you to capture precisely this moment: the audience’s wonder, the gaze that rests on the artwork and is transformed by it, the gesture that completes the installation, the marvel that occurs. - Each shot is called to tell a story of a relationship, a threshold, a shared emotion between bodies and spaces that become art, in the slow and visionary time of Maranola during the Seminaria Sogninterra festival.
- Digital works (including any scans of analog works), in black and white or color, must be submitted no later than September 21, 2025, together with the registration form, grouped in a .ZIP folder bearing the candidate’s Last Name, First Name and date of birth, in .JPG format, sRGB color profile, at maximum resolution (300 dpi), with the long side of 30 cm, without logos, signatures, frames, watermarks, and any recognizable marks, under penalty of exclusion.
- Files must be named with a maximum of 7 alphanumeric characters plus extension, composed as follows: CCCNNNn.jpg where: CCC are the first three letters of the surname, NNN the first three letters of the first name and the letter n indicates the progressive number, from 1 to 5.
- Entries can only be sent via email (using file transfer services such as WeTransfer, Transfernow, Dropbox, etc.) to info@seminariasogninterra.it
- The participation fee is set at €10.00 per participant, which can be paid no later than the photo submission deadline of 09/21/2025, through Paypal service accessible on the contest’s dedicated page.
- You can register for the contest by completing the online form. Entries not accompanied by the fee and participation form will not be judged.
- The Jury will consist of Seminaria Sogninterra curators, the president of l’altro sguardo association Mauro Abate, and photographers Alberto Vozzolo, Paola D’Urso, and Gabriele Drago. The jury’s evaluations will be based on the following parameters/concepts: creativity and adherence to the theme. Results, including the names of winning photographers and photos, will be published by October 1, 2025. The Jury’s decision is final and unappealable.
- The photographic material will not be returned and will remain at the disposal of Seminaria Sogninterra and l “altro sguardo Associations for any cultural advertising purposes, with due credit to the” author, without any compensation being due under any title.
- PRIZES
The best photographs will be included with credits in “the catalog and social media publications.
Prizes for the best 3 photographs
1st place: ‘Sailing Course’ by the Italian Naval League Formia Section FIV Sailing School to be held during summer, agreeing on dates and methods with the sailing school considering organizational needs.
2nd place: ‘Photography Course by l’ altro sguardo Photography Club” to be held starting January/February 2026*
3rd place: Aperitif at Madeira Cocktail Bar (Formia) * agreeing on dates and methods.
